MLB Draft

A total of nineteen Florida League alumni were taken in the 2018 Major League Baseball draft between June 4-6. Six players were taken in the Top 10 rounds, including former River Rat Carlos Cortes (South Carolina) who was the first alumni off the board in the third round.
In addition, a total of 26 athletes who played in the Florida League High School Invitational were drafted, including first round picks Jonathan India and Brady Singer form the University of Florida.

Player of the Week
Nick DeTringo appeared in 19 games for the Suns last summer, tallying 10 RBI. In the 2018 season opener, he drove in EIGHT to go along with four hits to earn the first EW Fitness Elite Performer award of the season.

Pitcher of the Week
J ake Christa was dominant in his outing on Saturday, tossing three perfect innings to go with three strikeouts as Winter Park took home a 2-1 victory. That's what we call Clutch Performance!

FUNraiser Program
What's better than a night at the ballpark? How about taking home some money?! Our FUNraiser program gives the chance for local schools, youth teams, non-profits and groups to sell tickets to Florida League games and take home part of the proceeds!

Saturday Youth Clinics
Florida League teams are hosting Saturday morning clinics in June and July for youth ballplayers ages 6-12. Learn from your favorite players and coaches, and stay afterward for a special autograph session!

Host Families Needed
Dozens of families are lined up to serve as host families for our players this summer, but we still need more! You can play a crucial role in helping our players reach the next level of baseball. Even if you can't host, you can help by spreading the word to your friends and neighbors!
