No ChatGPT account for you: That’s right, OpenAI is making its flagship conversational AI accessible to everyone, even people who haven’t bothered making an account. But as reporter Devin Coldewey writes, there are some catches. Passing gas: Terraform Industries is helping us reduce our dependence on hydrocarbons. Its technology, a system it calls the Terraformer, uses electricity and air to produce synthetic natural gas. And for the first time, it has commissioned a demonstrator Terraformer. Read More

The AltStore cometh: Move over, Apple, the AltStore, an alternative app store, is taking advantage of Europe’s Digital Markets Act, and Apple’s woes with it, to launch an updated version of its app marketplace in the European Union with plans to support Patreon-backed apps. Read More
