Play Row Me Over the Tide

April's Free Sheet Music is Here

This month's free sheet music carries a melancholy message indicative of its time.

Edward C. Avis composed "Row Me Over the Tide" in 1889, during post-Civil War southern reconstruction. Floods and flu were of grave concern, and war and disease created an ever-growing orphan population.

Download Avis' powerful depiction of an orphan's plight, and play this historical hymnal now. Free arrangements are available for piano/vocal/chords, guitar tab, and instrumental solos with optional piano accompaniment.
