Review: I’m Not Here Gives Us the Beauty of Possibilities and Brilliant Performances

Sebastian Stan as Steve in I'm Not Here.
The exploration of possibilities is something that we all long for, and I’m Not Here gives us a unique look at what hope for redemption can be like.
TV, The Umbrella Academy

The Umbrella Academy Siblings Need to Work on Their Communication Skills

The Umbrella Academy Cast together in better costumes than they get on the show, except for Klaus, duh.
I spent all of my Sunday binge-watching The Umbrella Academy on Netflix. As a longtime fan of My Chemical Romance, Robert Sheehan, Tom Hopper, and dysfunctional X-Men-style family drama, I was really excited to watch it. However, during my binge experience, two things irked me: (1) the Luther/Allison romance (which we can get into another time) and (2) the complete and total lack of communication between the siblings on important issues.
Big on the Internet, Be More Chill, musicals

I Can’t Stop Listening to Be More Chill, so Please Everyone Go See It so I’m Not Alone

Will Roland singing in Be More Chill
High school is hell, we all know that, but Be More Chill brings that narrative to live in a fun and new way.
Books, Book Review, contributors, Star Wars (franchise)

Book Review: Star Wars: Queen’s Shadow Is the Padmé Story Her Fans Deserve

Padmé Amidala on the cover of the Queen's Shadow Star Wars book.
The arrival of E.K. Johnston’s new Star Wars novel, Queen’s Shadow, couldn’t come at a timelier moment. Focusing on former Queen and then Senator of Naboo Padmé Amidala Naberrie, it shines a spotlight on a quiet woman leader who is all too easily overlooked alongside more obvious franchise heroines Leia, Rey, Rose, and Jyn.
Big on the Internet, special effects, The MCU, things we saw today

Things We Saw Today: See What Marvel Films Look Like Without Special Effects

Spider-Man gets a boost during a green screen shot for Spider-Man: Homecoming in this The Marvel Universe Without the Special Effects video from GamesRadar.
A sign of a film with great special effects is that the effects aren't readily apparent to the eye.
TV, Doom Patrol, LGBTQ Representation, Matt Bomer

Doom Patrol‘s Matt Bomer on Larry Trainor, and Playing a Gay Superhero

Matt Bomer and Kyle Clements as Larry Trainor and John Bowers in Doom Patrol..
With so much superhero content available in film and television, it's easy for a show to get lost in the shuffle.
