By @peter-jobes [ 5 Min read ] 2024 has been a challenging year so far for Apple’s embattled stock, but could the launch of the iPhone 16 and arrival of generative AI capabilities for iOS help the smartphone giant recapture its status as a market leader? Apple’s well-documented problems have been playing out on Wall Street throughout the year, and the stock finished the first quarter more than 7.5% lower after Barclays issued a downgrade owing to a lack of innovation and slowing sales in China. "The iPhone 15 has been lackluster and we believe iPhone 16 should be the same," warned Barclays analyst Tim Long in a client note in January... |
By @jakedonoghue [ 7 Min read ] ONE of the most prominent firms in crypto recently sent shockwaves through the industry by announcing it is suing the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC). On April 25th, in a bitterly worded lawsuit filed in a Texas federal court, crypto giant Consensys accused the SEC of “regulatory overreach” in its bid to bring to heel the $380 billion cryptocurrency Ether (commonly referred to as ETH). The complaint is based on the grounds that “ETH bears none of the attributes of a security.” Consensys are wrong, and this lawsuit is doomed to fail. The reasons why stretch back nearly ten years to when Ethereum was first founded. But in order to understand them, we first need some context on what, exactly, Consensys does... |
By @benoitmalige [ 10 Min read ] Really? So you're just going to open anyway? I really wanted you to skip this one. I was busy travelling, and I had nothing to write. Came back from an 18 hour flight and kept thinking of what to write, but I couldn’t. So I figured I would ask for a favor and have you pass this one. Yet here we are.. So thanks for that.. What I am supposed to do now? Let me think. Oh— You know what? I have a quick story to tell. I was visiting my brother on a small and (very) remote island of French Polynesia called Nuku Hiva. So small, in fact, that it doesn’t even appear on the map unless you zoom wayyy in. Don’t believe me? The point is, it’s a small airport, and you have to walk yourself to the terminal... |
By @scottdclary [ 6 Min read ] If you're feeling frustrated and confused by the current economic climate (and honestly, who isn't?), I've got a resource for you. I recently had a conversation with Diana Furchtgott-Roth, an economist, professor, and author, and wow – she cuts through the noise like a hot knife through butter. This isn't some armchair commentator – Diana has real-world policy experience as former Deputy Assistant Secretary for Research and Technology at the U.S. Department of Transportation. She understands how the gears of government and the economy actually work... and more importantly, why they often grind to a halt. https://youtu.be/4b4nxehKDus?embedable=true If you want to listen to the full podcast, listen on successstorypodcast.com or on YouTube... |

Nazi Germany officially declared the end of the war on May 8, 1945, which is also known as Victory in Europe (VE) Day.
