Noor breaks silence, testifies to partner's fear, decision to fire

Speaking publicly for the first time about the night he shot 911 caller Justine Ruszczyk, ex-Minneapolis police officer Mohamed Noor described hearing a bang and reacting to his partner's fear as he moved to shoot the figure next to the squad.

A Minneapolis school is immersing students in both Dakota and Ojibwe

There are several native groups that call Minnesota home, including Dakota and Ojibwe. But fewer and fewer people can speak the languages of those groups fluently. Bdote charter school in Minneapolis is trying to change that.

4-year construction work on SWLRT about to kick off

Work will soon start on the Southwest light rail line, kicking off four years of construction on the $2 billion project. The Cedar Lake and Kenilworth trails will be closed in some areas for at least two years, Metro Transit officials said.
