Noor trial: Ruszczyk silent before shot; closing arguments Monday

Mohamed Noor said 911 caller Justine Ruszczyk didn't say anything as she approached his police squad, contradicting testimony by his former partner. Noor, facing charges in her killing, said he made a "split-second" decision to fire.

U regents take no action on renaming campus buildings

University of Minnesota leaders Friday declined to change the names of four campus buildings named for former administrators, despite a task force recommendation to change the names.

Lawyer: Boy hurt in MOA attack conscious, may be home by June

The 5-year-old hurt after a stranger threw him from the third floor of the Mall of America is alert and no longer in critical condition, the family's lawyer said Friday, adding it's possible the boy could be home by June.

 
Russian agent Maria Butina sentenced to 18 months following guilty plea

Prosecutors asked a judge to give Butina more prison time, citing the threat they said she posed to national security. Her attorneys said her motives weren't "nefarious" and she is ready to go home.
