'It took 4.5 years': In 2020, a crime lab chemist pushed back against an NOPD sergeant's order to halt testing in a case. The next day, the sergeant entered the chemist's home and detained him without a warrant. Missy Wilkinson has this look at what led to the sergeant's firing nearly five years later.
Reviving the swamp: The dying Maurepas Swamp is one step closer to being revived thanks to a $60 million grant. The project, as Josie Abugov reports, is expected to replenish around 45,000 acres of wetlands over the next 50 years, protecting Louisiana from storm surge while reviving a once popular fishing spot.
City payroll snags continue: The city has failed to pay its summer lifeguards on time, an incident that follows other similar payroll snags that have left teen workers without stipends and vendors frustrated. Joni Hess and Courtney Lucius have the details.
