Get to know the Nordic entrepreneurship ecosystem
Although the Nordic countries have innovative economies with a skilled and well educated population, entrepreneurship culture has not been our strongest feature. Several efforts have been made over the last years to strengthen this culture, but there are still significant systemic and competence challenges for startups and scaleups to grow on international markets.
The Nordic Entrepreneurship Check 2016 report can serve as a tool for entrepreneurs, investors and policy makers to navigate and strengthen the Nordic entrepreneurship ecosystem to improve the level of innovation and competitiveness of Nordic companies looking to grow. The report mainly offers:
- Mapping and analysis of the current state of the Nordic entrepreneurial ecosystem.
- Benchmarking against the entrepreneurship ecosystems in London, Amsterdam and Berlin.
- Policy recommendations and suggested activities to improve the Nordic entrepreneurship ecosystem and Nordic collaboration in the field of entrepreneurship.

What the Nordics can offer medtech companies
The Nordic countries are famous for offering world-class health care services and the welfare systems make our healthcare markets some of the best funded globally. This has happended partly because Nordic hospitals and other healthcare institutions often offer medtech companies and entrepreneurs facilities to test innovative solutions and prototypes in realistic settings â often referred to as test beds.
This access to testing and development in hospitals should make the Nordic countries a go-to region for medtech companies.
Nordic Innovation is currently financing two projects that work to harmonise clinical and administrative standards and operations, and together develop a professional service for testing new and innovative healthcare products in the Nordics. They are an integral part of Nordic Innovationâs initiative on making the region world-leading in developing innovative health and welfare solutions.
