The first Nordic Scalers are here!

Earlier this year, Nordic Innovation initiated the Nordic Scalers programme to help high-growth companies prepare and accelerate their next stages of growth. Now, seven fast growing companies have been selected to participate in the first round of the programme.

Yogaia, Dental Media, OZ Sports, ViaBill, Singa, Secomea and Disruptive Technologies have been selected to the Nordic Scalers programme starting this December. These Nordic companies focus on a wide array of emerging technologies and span from sports and healthtech to media and communications.

Over the next six months, these scale-ups will have access to a cross-Nordic network of mentors, coaching and peer-to-peer learning.

The Nordic Scalers programme is implemented by a cross-Nordic consortium consisting of Rainmaking (Denmark), Epicenter (Sweden), Startup Norway (Norway), Maria 01 (Finland) and Icelandic Startups (Iceland).

Funding decision: 21 December 2017

This funding opportunity is part Nordic Sustainable Cities, which is one of six flagship projects under the Nordic prime ministers’ initiative Nordic Solutions to Global Challenges and is coordinated by the Nordic Council of Ministers.

Solving tomorrow’s health and care challenges together

Norwegian Minister of Health and Care Services, Bent Høie, encouraged increased Nordic cooperation as test facilities and companies met in Oslo to discuss opportunities for collaboration. About 150 participants showed up at Oslo Science Park 8 November to participate in the Developing Tomorrow’s Solutions in Nordic Test Facilities conference.

The conference was hosted by Nordic Innovation and leading actors within the Nordic test facility ecosystem on both hospital and municipal level. Together, they wanted to put the role of Nordic hospitals and municipalities in transforming health and care together with innovative companies on the agenda.

The conference was also an opportunity to show results from three test facility projects financed by Nordic Innovation in collaboration with national funding agencies Vinnova, Innovation Norway, Tekes and Rannis. Among the results were the launch of Nordic Proof, a new network of professional test facilities at the leading hospitals in the Nordic region.

Innovation organisations set to increase cooperation

The leaders of Innovation Centre Iceland, Tekes, Innovation Norway, Vinnova, the Danish Business Authority and Nordic Innovation met in Helsinki in November to discuss how the organisations could further their cooperation to improve the Nordic innovation scene.
