Educational Background - BA in Psychology and MAE in Counseling. Many years of counseling, studying the human spirit. 12 hrs of college art with skills. I desired a classical realism approach that I only found by continuously seeking out today's masters that teach the beauty of the Old Master's. So, 10,000 hrs of masterful study and painting behind me...infinity in front of me. Striving to weave these two areas of my background together to create beautiful stories of life. In 2011, I traveled with my mom to Italy. Seeing the magnificent art work of the Sistine Chapel and the galleries in Florence was life changing. I was kissed by the art of the Masters. In 2014 I retired from Counseling and began studying in studios and workshops under Instructors in the lineage of the Classical Artists. I began in landscapes and figurative paintings. I was commissioned to complete a portrait and my passion exploded. Opened Albany Arts in December 2022, I have been teaching private classes, groups, and workshops since while continuing to paint commissioned pieces. "Whether I am standing outside at my easel painting a landscape or in my studio working on a still life of cut fruit or a portrait of a unique individual, I am drawn to praise the Creator of all things. The beauty and complexity of created forms, the interaction of light, shadow and atmosphere, and the subtleties of color-these are all evidence of the One who creates and loves us. It is a privilege to be an artist and to closely observe these gifts." Her paintings have been displayed and won numerous awards in local, regional and national juried shows.
