North Carolina's historic Biltmore Village is underwater after flooding caused by Helene, with water levels nearing the top of street signs in some places.

"All of the loss and destruction is just heartbreaking," one woman told NBC News.

At least 42 people have been confirmed dead from the storm as of Saturday, and about 3.3 million customers woke up without power in multiple states.
