What else we're watching:
Fresh off a Pitbull tour, Twin Cities jazz artist Lucia Sarmiento returns ready to lead. Lucia Sarmiento was born and raised in Lima, Peru and moved to the Twin Cities to study jazz at the former McNally Smith College of Music in St. Paul. Since then, she has been making her mark on the music scene, including touring with singer and rapper Pitbull. 

Lawmakers leave St. Paul without major bills or plan for special session. The 2022 legislative session came to an inauspicious end when Minnesota lawmakers missed their midnight Sunday deadline for passing bills. Plans for cutting taxes and spending what remains of the state’s big surplus didn’t reach the finish line.

Craft breweries, distilleries rejoice over change to state liquor laws. Beer drinkers can take home their favorite brews to-go in growlers from the state’s largest craft brewers starting Monday after lawmakers made the most significant changes to the state’s liquor laws since allowing Sunday sales.

Southern Baptists face push for public list of sex abusers. A blistering report on the Southern Baptist Convention’s mishandling of sex abuse allegations is raising the prospect that the denomination, for the first time, will create a publicly accessible database of pastors and other church personnel known to be abusers.

Woman charged with murder of 6-year-old son who was found dead in trunk in Mound. A 28-year-old suburban Twin Cities woman faces a charge of second-degree murder after allegedly fatally shooting her 6-year-old son last week and then hiding his body in the trunk of a vehicle.
