An LSU Super Bowl quarterback - and it's not Joe Burrow

By Bob Warren

When Joe Burrow takes the field Sunday, he won’t be the first LSU quarterback to start a Super Bowl game. You might recall David Woodley started for the Dolphins against the Redskins nearly 40 years ago. Sports writer Wilson Alexander has this take on Woodley’s triumphs on the field, and struggles off it.

Makin' donuts: You might have seen some video on social media of cars doing smokey donuts in the middle of a downtown New Orleans intersection. Lots of smoke and people in the intersection waving like bullfighters. Anyway, police are checking it out as well. (Oh, and we've been, uh, down this road before...)

Good - and cheap: No, I don’t want a good, cheap meal said no one ever. We got you covered. Our food ace Ian McNulty teamed up with WWL-TV’s Jade Cunningham to find 10 places where you can eat for less than a $10 spot. (Insert topical GIF here for cheap laugh...)

Land grab: Hitting the parade route this weekend? Or maybe you’re the person in charge of “acquiring” land on the Orleans Avenue neutral ground for a parade that’s still weeks away. Our friends at Gambit show us the much-derided Krewe of Chad is back…

Hope you enjoyed Lunch Line today. Thanks for taking a break with us.
