Dear Reader,

This is just a very quick note to let you know that I’ve taken the decision to close the Port Phillip Publishing and Fat Tail Media offices this coming Monday, 2 November.

As you may know, Tuesday is a public holiday here in Victoria for the Melbourne Cup. So, we’ve decided to treat all our staff to an extra day off in order to unwind, relax, and get some much-needed rest with their families.

Just like every other business around the country, we’ve had to pivot in these trying times since March.

Our HQ in Albert Park has been largely deserted since the first lockdown. And like most people these days, we’ve all been working from home. This has been quite the challenge for a busy publishing house. But, in my view, we’ve met that challenge like champs and I’m extremely proud that the quality of the work we’ve been able to serve you with — the daily ideas, insights, and recommendations — have only got better and better this last year.

The aim is quality in everything we do. Quality research. Quality writing. Quality thinking. And quality service. It’s all for you. Without you, we don’t have a business. But equally, without our amazing team, working their butts off each and every day, nothing happens either.

So, coming off the back of a massive online Beyond Oil conference we just held, and with a mid-week public holiday, we thought it was a good opportunity to reward everyone with a well-deserved break.

Hope you understand (I’m sure you will!).

Of course, any services that require an update on Monday will still be received. Otherwise, you can expect a break from the daily e-letters, and we’ll be back in force from Wednesday, 4 November.

Cheers,
