Ayurvedic nourishment

Dear Yogi,

As we continue to explore the Ayurvedic health system, we take a closer look at the idea of nourishment, which covers diet and nutrition, but also work, communication with others, and basically everything we physically and mentally consume.

As the aim of Ayurveda is to find an organic balance, there’s no list of “do’s and don’ts” but rather a more personalised approach of adjusting our lifestyle and diet to our own unique body and personality, acknowledging that this may also change over time.

Understanding our current ‘state’ and nourishing it accordingly is a key principle in Ayurveda. At the heart of it, we find the three Doshas, or constitutions – Vata, Pitta, and Kapha – which are present in all of us. Usually, one or two Doshas will be more dominant, and these influence our psychological and physiological tendencies.

Try our suggested recipes and yoga classes below to balance your body and mind, and look out for more on Ayurveda in the coming weeks.
