This November, we invite you to discover audience favorites like author and humorist David Sedaris; thrilling new voices like Débo Ray; and exhilarating artist collaborations in new and familiar venues across Boston.
We are proud to offer digital concerts for most of our November programming to ensure that those who cannot join us physically can still gather with us virtually.
Whether you're looking to experience an intimate collaboration at the GBH Calderwood Studio or a solo piano recital on our largest stage, there's truly something for everyone this month
Tenor Nicholas Phan teams up with adventurous string quartet Brooklyn Rider for a performance that places the past and present in direct and powerful dialogue.
The program features two Boston premieres, Rufus Wainwright’s Trois valses anglaises and Nico Muhly’s Stranger, and explores love and death through the music of Franz Schubert and Rufus Wainwright.

GRAMMY-nominated vocalist and composer Débo Ray made her Series debut with a solo performance from her home studio during the pandemic, and we hope you'll join her and her Quartet when they take the stage at the Kroc Center in Upham's Corner!
Soul, Rock, and Sounds of the Heart promises musical variety—Débo's influences include jazz, rock, and world music.
In-person: Sat. Nov 13 3:00PM
Digital Premiere: Thurs. Nov 18 8:00PM
Pianist Daniil Trifonov holds a special place in our hearts, and his upward trajectory over the past decade has been leading to this special moment: his solo recital debut at Symphony Hall. Following his sold-out premiere in our Debut Series, the young superstar returned twice to rapturous receptions at Jordan Hall, and we can’t wait to present him on our biggest stage for music.
Sun. Nov 14 3:00PM
With sardonic wit and incisive social critiques, David Sedaris has become one of America’s pre-eminent humor writers. Sedaris is a master of satire and one of the most observant writers addressing the human condition today.
You can expect to hear readings of new and unpublished stories—although, as regular attendees know, hearing Sedaris read any of his own work brings it to life in its own special way.
This performance will have an American Sign Language interpreter located on stage left.
Sun. Nov 21 7:00PM
Symphony Hall, Boston
