Local photographer, Taylor Rhodes, blessed our ministry with a wonderful photo shoot this month. The pictures are absolutely gorgeous. We certainly have a beautiful group here at The Joy House. Thank you, Taylor, for your hard work. We will all enjoy having these pictures for years to come.

Much to Be Thankful for...

This month, our girl's home hosted their Annual High Tea in honor of their tutors and teachers who are a part of The Joy House Academy. This event has proven to be a favorite each year as our girls work hard to prepare homemade sweets and finger foods to treat our guests to. We are so very grateful for the wonderful staff and volunteers of The Joy House Academy that pour so much into our students all year round. We know the success of our students depends on your faithfulness and sacrifices.

Our ministry has had overwhelming support this year from long-time partners as well as new friends. Thank you for your prayers, financial blessings and willingness to share about our ministry with others. YOU have made a difference in the many lives we have been privileged to serve this year and we want to say THANK YOU! We pray for God's blessings upon you and your loved ones during this season of Thanksgiving.

Counselor's Corner - Heirs of the Father?

By: Bill Wattenbarger, PhD

In Chapter 8 of Romans, Paul develops his ideas about being heirs of God. He says we no longer live in the realm of the flesh.  Rather, we live in the realm of the Spirit.

This Holy Spirit lives within and brings righteousness to, we who belong to Christ.  We become the children of God.  Consequently, the surrendered life is no longer about our worldly affairs.

The Spirit does not enslave.  God becomes approachable as our Abba Father.  As His children, we are freely led by the Spirit.  We inherit the Father’s estate and we must share in this station with Christ himself.  But there is an obligation.  We must share in His suffering if we are to share in His glory.

The Spirit strengthens us in our weakness.  When we do not know what to pray, He prays with us and through us.  He intercedes with the Father for every need and request.  He makes whatever happens to work to fulfill His purposes.

Over the years many of you have chosen to make our boy's and girl's homes feel extra special this Christmas season by providing special gifts for them from their Christmas Wish Lists. Below are their current "wishes." Please contact Steve if you have any questions, or if you have your own special gift in mind. We are so grateful for your consideration to bless our residential homes in this joyful way.
