Last Two Repair Cafés for 2025: November 2nd and 30th
Repair Cafés aim to reduce landfill waste by fixing items, teaching new skills, and building community! Our fixers and menders will be sharing their knowledge and skills around fixing everything from kids' torn snowsuits to bike repairs to the wiring in your favourite lamp. Come and join us!

Workspace Safety 101 & 201 Workshops

Explore the world of power tools through our OTL Safety 101 and 201 courses! These classes cover a range of tools, including band saws, mitre saws, drills, table saws, and planers, while teaching you essential handling techniques and safety protocols. Each workshop features different tools, so check out the details to find the one that interests you most.

Leather Tote Bag Workshop

Join us for two evenings of leatherwork and make a beautiful leather tote bag! In this two-part beginner workshop, you'll learn marking, cutting, pricking, and saddle stitching to create a finished product. Sign up now to create and use this beautiful bag!

Demo Night: Chair Caning

Bring your chair in need of caning to our demo night! Our instructor Cheryl will walk through the process, from tools and supplies to measuring cane size. She’ll demonstrate techniques and offer tips for different chair shapes, with plenty of time for questions.

Holiday Wreath Making Workshop

Join us for a festive, 2-hour Holiday Wreath Workshop led by Brooke from Willow+Blume! You'll learn how to create your own wreath using a wire or grapevine base, with access to a wide variety of greenery, dried items, ribbons, and holiday crafts. All materials are provided and you’ll leave with a beautiful, handmade wreath. With years of floral design experience and a love for foraging, Brooke will guide you through every step. Don’t miss this creative holiday experience!

OTL Tinkering School PD Day Camp!

Bring your kid to our one-day camp for kids aged 9-13 to build their very own gumball machine! They'll learn woodworking basics, safely use tools like the bandsaw and drill press, and sharpen their math skills through measuring and marking. With a strong focus on safety and hands-on fun, this camp is perfect for young DIY enthusiasts. Space is limited to 8 participants and always sells out, so sign up soon!

University of Alberta Clothing Use and Repair Survey

The University of Alberta's Textile Research Group is conducting a survey on clothing use and repair habits across North America, with a focus on those who have attended repair events. Their goal is to gather insights that will help inform governments, businesses, and consumers about promoting sustainability initiatives in Canada and the USA. Events just like our Repair Cafés!

The survey is anonymous, and responses will contribute to valuable research on sustainable practices. Follow the link below to take part in the survey and contribute to this important research!
