In the time since Apple released its M1 chip, it seems like...everyone has decided to make their own chips. The latest? Google.
The Verge reports that
Google hired an Intel veteran to serve as its VP of Engineering for server chip design. While Google says it's not going to build every server chip itself, it does join
a growing list of companies that want to use homegrown processors.
It's no secret that we've seen a huge chip shortage over the last 12 months. Has it impacted your ability to procure hardware for your employees? And do you think moves like Google's to create their own processors will alleviate that shortage? Let me know what you think in
this SaaSOps Community thread.
