In the time since Apple released its M1 chip, it seems like...everyone has decided to make their own chips. The latest? Google.

The Verge reports that Google hired an Intel veteran to serve as its VP of Engineering for server chip design. While Google says it's not going to build every server chip itself, it does join a growing list of companies that want to use homegrown processors.
