Magic Round - it’s a weekend of footy that all the codes want to copy. Rugby Union is two years in to ‘Super Round’, the AFL is having a crack at the ‘Gather Round’ – but only the NRL can offer ‘Magic Round’, from Friday May 5th until Sunday May 7th.

It’s Australia’s original gala weekend where an entire round is played all in the one city. The three-day extravaganza in Brisbane has the vibe all the others want to replicate - they can try, but they won’t get close.

Whether you are inside the venue, wandering around nearby re-fuelling, or enviously taking it in from afar, your perfect companion for 100% pure footy is the ABC listen app – with every game streaming live and ad free.

It’s a bit like school camp for the Grandstand Rugby League team as me and my local crew of Billy Moore and Clinton Schifcofske link up with the Sydney lads, Andrew Moore, Luke Lewis and John Gibbs, to bring you expert commentary - every try and every tackle, of all eight games.
