Good afternoon,

Australia's biggest coal power station may stay open for four more years, with the NSW government working on the safety net solution to head off the threat of blackouts hitting the state's electricity users.

Budget carrier Bonza has been placed into voluntary administration following the repossession of its fleet of Boeing 737 Max 8s.

The Australian sharemarket extended its gains, as interest rate jitters receded after weak retail sales data. The ASX 200 jumped around 0.4 per cent to 7,664.1 points on Tuesday, led by consumer discretionary and property stocks, while the All Ordinaries gained 0.3 per cent at 7,932 points.

The Big Read

Lawyers representing four executives working for shopping giant Super Retail Group claim an external informant has come forward with new details of an affair between its chief executive and human resources boss, claiming its board were aware of the secret relationship as far back as December last year.

Specialist workplace law firm Harmers Workplace Lawyers launched a counterattack against Super Retail on Monday, saying they have proof an undisclosed intimate relationship did exist between chief executive Anthony Heraghty and the retailer’s then chief of HR, Jane Kelly.
