| Tentoonstelling Tosti's Truffels Treinen geopend | Alles over eten en drinken op het spoor |

| Prachtige restauratierijtuigen open voor publiek | Eten en drinken is al van vanaf het allereerste begin van de spoorgeschiedenis verbonden met de trein. Toen in 1825 in Engeland de stoomlocomotief zijn eerste ritje maakte, werden de passagiers bij aankomst onthaald op hapjes en bier. En in Nederland lag het eerste treinstation tegenover een herberg. Die was daarmee een voorloper van de latere stationsrestauraties. Alle reden dus voor het Spoorwegmuseum om een grote familietentoonstelling te maken rond het thema eten en drinken op het spoor. Denk aan een kopje koffie op het perron, een eenvoudige tosti in de stationsrestauratie, maar ook aan een luxe meergangendiner met truffels in de Oriënt Express. Er zijn niet alleen bijzondere serviezen, menukaarten, koffiekarren, foto's en affiches te zien, je kunt ook zelf een kijkje nemen in een tiental prachtige restauratierijtuigen uit binnen- en buitenland. | Nieuw pareltje voor het Spoorwegmuseum | Restauratierijtuig Plan D prachtig opgeknapt |

| Toonbeeld van de jaren 50 | Hij stond al jaren in het depot van het Spoorwegmuseum en was hard aan een opknapbeurt toe. De Plan D RD uit 1951 is nu een van de pronkstukken van Tosti's Truffels Treinen. Wat hem zo bijzonder maakt? Het rijtuig heeft schitterende interieurdetails en laat een mooi tijdsbeeld zien van de jaren 50. Het interieur lijkt op een American Diner en vooral de kleurstelling is bijzonder, de trein kreeg een opvallende turquoise kleur. Het Spoorwegmuseum kon het rijtuig restaureren dankzij een bijdrage van de Vereniging Vrienden van het Spoorwegmuseum, de Stichting Goede Doelen Nh1816 en de BankGiro Loterij. | | |

| | | Wissel naar de toekomst | De hyperlocale treincoupé van de Creative Chef |
| | Hoe ziet de toekomst eruit? | Voor Tosti’s Truffels Treinen stelde het Spoorwegmusuem die vraag aan kunstenaar Jasper Udink ten Cate, beter bekend als de Creative Chef. Speciaal voor het Spoorwegmuseum bedacht hij de hyperlocale treincoupé. Een utopisch verhaal over hoe het zou zijn als je je eten gewoon zou kunnen oogsten in de trein. De trein is een stuk natuur geworden waar je gewoon je eten kan plukken. Geen vervoer van etenswaren en een CO2 footprint van nul. Een mini ecosysteem waar alles klopt! De Creative Chef zegt daar zelf over: “Ik wil de kinderen een startpunt meegeven voor hun eigen fantasie of verhaal rondom duurzaamheid, ecosytemen en mogelijkheden van de natuur."
