Hello Sunday. Here’s a roundup of news and information for your Sunday, as you prepare for the week ahead that will find many of us (again) working from home.

Number of confirmed cases 'just the tip of the iceberg' 

Health officials warned Minnesotans Saturday that COVID-19 is widespread across the state. The number of reported cases rose to 169 in 28 counties Sunday. Meanwhile, efforts to get more masks and other protective equipment into the hands of medical personnel increased on Saturday.

Will Gov. Walz issue a shelter-in-place order?

Walz has hinted that he may issue such an order, following the actions of leaders in New York, Illinois and California as a way to slow the spread of the coronavirus. A look at what that has meant for those states may indicate what’s to come for Minnesotans.

For some medical providers, P-P-E is being spelled D-I-Y

Two St. Paul women teamed up to offer mask-making sewing kits for free Sunday, amid the mask shortage. “We’re sort of cooped up. The best thing to do is not to be out,’’ said Judy Walker, the founder of Sew Good Goods, And I think it really calls on people to find a way to have a positive impact.”

Minnesota faith leaders stay connected with congregations

Several area places of worship offered some alternatives to services this Sunday. Some preached to empty sanctuaries or spoke from home, leading services for people watching on their phones and computers. Others had drive-in and drive-thru services.
