This Week in Nursing An overwhelming majority of University of Vermont Medical Center nurses voted in favor of a two-day strike if there is no deal between the facility and the nursing union when their contract expires on July 9. A new report from the Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality (AHRQ) found that hospital-acquired conditions (HAC) dropped between 2014 and 2016, preventing an estimated 8,000 deaths and saving $2.9 billion.
