The many layers of nurse burnout

There's been a lot of chatter about how to address burnout in nursing over the past few years. But, unfortunately, burnout rates are still high. Now some new research sheds light on the various layers of burnout. A Press Ganey report finds that factors like generation, shift, and role affect resilience and burnout. So, your millennial nurses may need different interventions than your baby boomers.

Research from the University of Texas at El Paso School of Nursing finds that nursing students who have gone through Adverse Childhood Experiences (there are many who have) have a higher risk of developing burnout and depression.

Finally, don't forget to vote on Tuesday! In Massachusetts, the fate of mandatory staffing ratios is in the voters' hands.
