Change, uncertainty, and vulnerability are all descriptors that can be applied to patient care and the needs of healthcare providers, particularly nurses brought about by the dominant takeover of the COVID-19 pandemic. Despite the onset of the pandemic’s health threat, patients sill expect uncompromised care and healthcare providers such as nurses, have their own needs to be fulfilled. In this session, we will take a look at the importance of how to maintain safe and quality patient care needs, as well as, how to ensure the needs of nurses hold a sense of prioritization for healthcare leaders. We will also look at the role of nurse resiliency plays in providing safe care needs. Finally, we will discuss the influence that high reliable organizations have on promoting an environment of care and concern for the well-being of both patients and nurses alike.
