Good evening,

Good evening,

Global alternatives giant Oaktree Capital Management has been very good at investing in and around financial crises; in fact, fiscal disasters are when Oaktree makes its best returns.

That's according to Howard Marks, Oaktree's billionaire co-founder and co-chairman, who last week fronted a bunch of wealthy Australians, seeking commitments as part of a $US15 billion ($21.4 billion) global funding round for the $US113 billion firm.

Street Talk's got the offer documents doing the rounds as well as details of the Crestone-hosted webinar which targeted investors with more than $US5 million in their coffers.

Elsewhere, we've sunk our teeth into the latest machinations at listed dentist group Abano Healthcare, while Australia's best-known hedge fund manager is launching a new fund.

Happy reading,
