AT&T is propping up the racist disinformation of One America News Network
Take Action

Friend,

Last month, Free Press learned that AT&T helped build the far-right One America News Network (OANN), a propaganda channel responsible for spreading anti-democratic disinformation, promoting COVID-19 conspiracy theories and fueling racism. Meanwhile, even OANN executives have testified that the network’s value “would be zero” without its deal with AT&T-owned DIRECTV.1

One America News is spreading lies that endanger public health and undermine our elections and democracy. Demand that AT&T and DIRECTV drop OANN now.

Let’s be clear: OANN would not exist without AT&T’s money and DIRECTV’s national platform. It wouldn’t have been able to mislead millions with dangerous, hateful and dishonest messages that undermine our democracy and threaten our diverse communities.

On Monday, we spearheaded a group of 16 civil-rights, human-rights and media-justice organizations calling on AT&T and DIRECTV to cut business ties with OANN.2Join us in demanding that AT&T and DIRECTV ditch OANN.

Thanks for all that you do—

Nora, Heather, Lucia and the rest of the Free Press team

P.S. The hateful One America News Network (OANN) wouldn’t exist without support from AT&T and DIRECTV. Tell these companies to cut all ties with OANN now.
