Welcome the return of Diane Landry’s (Canadian, b. 1958) signature work Flying School (Ecole d’aviation). Its 24 multi-colored umbrellas attached to rods at different heights, fold and unfold intermittently, like a person inhaling and exhaling.

Mary's Art Explorers is geared towards infants, toddlers, and preschoolers, but big brothers and sisters are welcome to join and create art with us. Your registration includes admission to the museum for the whole day.

Space is limited so preregister to guarantee your spot!

GOODBYE SUMMER, HELLO AUTUMN



Say hello to Autumn with us in this week’s Mary’s Art Explorers! This session features a special reading of Goodbye Summer, Hello Autumn by Kenard Pak, in which a young girl adventures through forests and towns, saying goodbye to summer and hello to autumn. This story truly captures the magic of the changing seasons. After the story, kids will dive into an autumn-inspired craft.

THE VERY HUNGRY CATERPILLAR



Join us for a special Art Explorers field trip to Airlie Gardens with Miss Ashley! Enjoy a blend of science and art as our educators share insights about bats and other nocturnal creatures, followed by a hands-on craft inspired by these fascinating creatures.


Our field trip includes admission to Airlie Gardens and a special reading of Bats at the Beach by Brian Lies, celebrating the night-time creatures. After, kids will get a chance to observe some incredible nocturnal critters up close and create their own bat-inspired crafts.

MEET MISS ASHLEY!

Miss Ashley comes to CAM from Cleveland, Ohio. Ashley has been a classroom teacher and an educator at The Museum of Contemporary Art, Cleveland. Ashley is a proud aunt to three nephews and one niece. Her favorite activities are building sandcastles and taking walks at

Long Leaf Park.

Join us to celebrate art and nature in preparation for the evening’s FlowILM event.


This month’s event focuses on creating art inspired by the environment and our planet. Enjoy a multi-generational opportunity to explore and create art as a family. Our museum staff will facilitate hands-on projects that reflect the environmental and artistic themes of FlowILM.


In addition to the art activities, join us for a family-friendly tour of the exhibitions

at 11:30 AM. Kids at CAM is presented by Excite Credit Union.
