Autumn Newsletter

Dear

So Who else is flabbergasted that it's October already?

I’m also astonished to realise that November is the fifth anniversary of Thimblestitch@Zoë’s opening! How did that happen? What a journey it’s been from the trepidation and excitement of that first day to today. Thank you to every one of you that have helped to make Th@Z’s the success it’s become.

Below is a photo Jodie found that she took just before we opened, just look how far we have come !!!

Other News

For a week in August Thimblestitch hosted an exhibition by the Woodmanton Group. As requested last year, the emphasis was on sketchbooks and design decisions. Thank you so much all those who came, chatted and commented. It was a real success even though we managed to clash with The Festival of Quilts! Here are just a few photos so you can judge for yourself.

Your comments were amazing and so complimentary! Instead of a sales table there were magazines and books for a donation and you surpassed yourselves. Your generosity meant that when we added the donations to the collection pot we have managed to buy three, yes three new toilets for places with little or no sanitation. What a generous and appreciative lot you are! That brings the total to 11 and we are now looking at ordering 2 more.

Very sadly the Toy shop in Honiton has had to close its doors, a big loss to the town. I have taken Jenny's stock of Anchor Tapestry Wools, it's not the whole range but I might just have the one you are looking for.

Also it means there is nowhere local to get mixed media supplies like acrylic paint, brushes, inktense pencils etc. I’m thinking a very small, basic stock might be helpful. I would value your opinions.
