The Saints' search for an offensive coordinator has finally ended, and when the dust cleared the team hired the guy who had been in the role for the previous 12 years: Pete Carmichael. At one time, it appeared the Saints were ready to go in a new direction. Allen interviewed a handful of external candidates for the position. But in the end, he elected to go with the guy he'd worked alongside for the past dozen years. Amie Just has the story. The Carmichael hire was the good news on Wednesday. The bad news: Alvin Kamara had a new charge added to the record of criminal charges levied against him by the Las Vegas Police Department. Authorities arrested two more men believed to be involved in the Las Vegas incident with Kamara, while a warrant remains out for a third man, who police believe to be Kansas City Chiefs cornerback Chris Lammons. Amie Just has the update. And finally, beat reporter Luke Johnson talked to some longtime friends, colleagues and associates of Allen to get their thoughts on the Saints' new head coach and glean some insight into the former Texas A&M defensive standout and son of an NFL player. Among them, former Aggies coach R.C. Slocum, who said, "From the day I first met him, he was everything I thought he would be." That's it for today.
