I never could get the recipe right until I stumbled upon it in the Betty Crocker Picture Cook Book. This cinnamon roll recipe brought back so much comfort and joy, so I had to share it with you! |
| Quick Cinnamon Rolls | Dough | 2 cups sifted Gold Medal® Flour | 3 tsp. baking powder | 1 tsp. salt | 6 tbsp. shortening | ⅔ cups milk | 2 tbsp. softened butter |
| Cinnamon Mixture | ½ c. sugar | 1 tsp. cinnamon | Raisins (optional) |

| Sift together flour, baking powder, and salt. Cut in shortening. Stir in milk. | Round up on lightly floured cloth-covered board. Knead lightly. Roll dough ¼” thick into rectangle 7” x 16”. Spread with softened butter. Sprinkle with cinnamon mixture and raisins, if desired. Roll up tightly like a jelly roll, beginning at the wide side. Seal well by pinching edge of dough into roll. Cut into 1” slices. Place cut-side-down on greased baking sheet or in greased muffin cups. Bake at 425 (hot oven) about 15 minutes. Serve hot. | Amount: 16 Cinnamon Rolls. |
