Happy October, I mean Oktober, New Orleans food folk! This week, Ian McNulty has the rundown on local Oktoberfests, where German food is on the table — and giant chickens are on the dance floor. If you love tacos, you'll love hearing about all the new Mexican spots around town. Seafood Sally's has reopened with a fresh emphasis on oysters and the grill. Ba Chi Kitchen + Bar brings Vietnamese fusion to the former Korea House in Metairie, and a baker celebrates her new lease on life at Nolita. Finally, New Orleans chef Kevin Belton does tailgating right, with delicious recipes for grilled chili lime shrimp and a cheesy chowder. 1. The beer is here! Restaurants all over town are leaning into their German heritage this month with food, beer and the flappy-clappy chicken dance.
