London’s oldest shops are up for
the fight
Just as it’s impossible to imagine Ant without Dec or Krept without Konan, it’s difficult to envisage London without its oldest, most iconic shops. We checked in with a few of our favourites to see how they’re coping with the current crisis. After all, a Covent Garden without its 500-year-old nautical rope shop isn’t a Covent Garden we want to visit.

11am Sail the seven seas (sort of)
Have you ever dreamed of leaving your quarantine cell to glide effortlessly along the Thames, a semi-clean spray spattering your face, as the sights and sounds of glorious Canning Town fly past? This is your chance to live that fantasy, as Thames Clippers is live-streaming its service from Woolwich pier to Battersea Power Station pier this very morning. Clip on, friends. Clip on.
The best of the rest

2.30pm It’s feeding time for the pelicans of St James’s Park, and thanks to the miracle of technology, you can watch.

7pm That very solid Camden Town Brewery quiz is back, hosted by Josh Weller.

7pm Open wide for the National Theatre’s masterpiece of the week! This time it’s 2018’s ‘Antony and Cleopatra’ (comin’ atcha) starring Ralph Fiennes and Sophie Okonedo.

Check out our full list of virtual highlights, updated every day.
Heavy-hitters come to dinner
Your takeaway options just got a little bit more extra. Nobu, Roka, and perhaps best of all, Bao are the latest restaurants to make their food available to the sofa-based London masses. While it’s true that eating Nobu sushi while binge-watching ‘American Horror Story’ in your pants is a surreal concept, it’s nice to know that you could treat yourself in the most lavish way possible if you needed to.
