We’ve been thinking a lot about family and all of its forms.
For many, "family" is made up of the people we’ve loved and been loved by all of our lives. For others, especially those who have had to show resilience in adversity, it’s something built from those worthy of the title. Most often, "family" means a bit of both: a hodgepodge of the people we’re tied to by genetics or good luck.
Family is love, and kindness, and loss, and laughter, and frustration, and, sometimes, words said in anger you wish you could take back. Whatever its shape, circumstances, or origin, "family" is beautiful. Think about how you can celebrate, protect, and cherish your family today and every day. No special holiday required.
But today actually IS one of those special holidays: Whether you have a "mom" in your life or not, we think you’ll enjoy reading about the history behind Mother’s Day. There’s actually a lot more to it than you might think.
Have you started your vegetable garden yet? Don’t forget the tomatoes and . . . get your kids involved. Growing food is a lot more fun when you do it as a family!
