Chance and fate seemed to be presenting me with my destiny. Yes, he has needs, I thought, and I’m just the person to meet them. Or I would be. If only his home country didn’t have their own irrational preferences.

An annual event sponsored by Smithsonian magazine in which a handful of museums offer limited free admission Saturday. In D.C., the list includes the Koshland Science Museum, the National Museum of Women in the Arts and the National Building Museum.
