City officials have ordered grass across the city, including along the world-famous Strip, to be pulled up as Nevada battles its ongoing drought. Grass in the city requires “the equivalent of 73 gallons of water a year per square foot,” Bronson Mack from the Southern Nevada Water Authority says. “That’s enough water to put where we are completely underwater by 10 feet.” A mix of artificial grasses and desert-loving flora will replace the shorn grass in public spaces and new developments. The Oversight Board published decisions on just 20 of the complaints between late 2020 and December 2021. It ruled against Meta in 14 of those instances, which included female breasts in a post supporting breast cancer awareness and the post-election banning of former President Trump from the platform.
