One of the hardest things about becoming a grandparent is not being able to show photos of little Edie; my daughter refuses to put images of her up anywhere and I had to ask permission even to show one to my co-treehuggers. It's a shame, because she would break Instagram, she is so cute.
 
Now Katherine raises the issue of "Sharenting," an ugly portmanteau of sharing and parenting. She worries about sharing emotional moments, but my daughter worries about ANY moment – the kid has rights, even at a year old.
