The Natural History Museum ice rink reopens this month |
TimeOut
As the temperature drops and the colourful leaves start to appear, it can mean only one thing: ice rinks return to the city. And we totally recommend wrapping up warm to welcome back the Natural History Museum’s Ice Rink with a few laps, whether you’re as graceful as Torvill and Dean or something more like Bambi, scrabbling for the sides.

From October 19 to January 12, you’ll get to experience an awesome day’s skating or a brilliant night out beneath twinkling fairy lights and the stunning backdrop of the museum's Romanesque Waterhouse building. There really aren’t many better ways to see in the festive season than with a few figure-of-eights, backwards glides or gentle shuffling within grabbing distance of the rails.

The Natural History Museum Ice Rink is great for kids, too. Not only will they help you host an awesome birthday or Christmas party, you can book little cherubs into the Penguin Skate Club on Saturday mornings. And of course those cute little penguin skate aids are also back – just remember to get in quick, they’re first-come, first-served.

And when you're not on the ice? Soak up the atmosphere by sipping a hot chocolate or mulled wine while watching the skaters from the cosiness of the in the alpine-themed Café Bar

We’ll see you there.
