| | May 23, 2024 | | An Aspen Ideas Festival Update on TODAY | We’re only one month away from the Aspen Ideas Festival and couldn’t be more excited about the events and conversations we’ll have in June. This week, 2024 Festival curator Tina Brown joined the TODAY show to share more details about what to expect. “Convening is very much like editing,” she said. “I’ve taken the approach to the Aspen Ideas Festival as if I were editing an issue of Vanity Fair, putting it together with that same mix of substance, sizzle, intellectual conversation, and provocative ideas.”
Brown shared her excitement over the incredible range of speakers set to join us in June, from visionary tech CEOs and bestselling novelists to government leaders and human rights activists.

However, it was not until the birth of modern science — seeking explanations with empirical data — that we came to understand our cosmic habitat better. And although we now know much about the universe we inhabit, there are many unsolved mysteries. At the 2016 Aspen Ideas Festival, theoretical astrophysicist Priyamvada Natarajan explained dark matter and dark energy, and the research taking us closer to understanding our cosmic beginnings.
