This year, we have a 59-day king cake season. From Kings Day (Jan. 6) to Mardi Gras (March 5), we'll slice into braided and unbraided, filled and unfilled, cinnamon-flavored and brioche cakes. I love a long Carnival, one that provides almost enough time to sample all the great cakes that New Orleans bakers feverishly create in the run up to Fat Tuesday. We don't want to miss any exceptional ones, so we're asking New Orleans bakers to help us prep for 2019 feasting. Will you help, too?
