Good morning! Nan Goldin is perhaps best known for her searing and tender snapshots of queer life in the ’80s, but in an interview with Senior Editor Hakim Bishara at her apartment in Brooklyn, she shared that she’s not so interested in photography anymore. Read their conversation, the latest in our Pride series, for a new glimpse into the artist and activist’s eye for capturing the beauty around her.

Also today: art to see in Upstate New York over the next couple of months, John Yau on Melissa Meyer, AX Mina on Jonathan Baldock, and, in what has become a regular practice, yet another tourist etches a cluster of letters onto an ancient Italian building, this time in Pompeii. Mamma mia.
