Good morning, and welcome to the Saints Insider newsletter for Thursday, Dec. 15, 2022. Rested from a bye week, the Saints returned to the practice field on Wednesday as they began preparations for Sunday's game against the Atlanta Falcons at the Superdome. Plenty of roster moves and transactions accompanied the Saints return to work. Here's what we have for you from Wednesday's news feed: 1. The Saints placed Mark Ingram on the injured reserve list, effectively ending the season for the veteran running back, who is the club's all-time leading rusher. 2. The loss of Ingram spurred the Saints to hit the waiver wire to add help at the running back position. The guy they signed had a big game against the Saints earlier this season, as some Saints fans might recall. 3. The extra week of rest did little to alleviate the Saints' health issues. Five players missed practice on Wednesday, and eight others were listed on the team's weekly injury report, beat reporter Terrin Waack reports. 4. The news wasn't all bad on the injury front, though. Two key players who have been sidelined in recent weeks were designated to return to practice, a positive development in their recovery. That's all we've got for now. We'll have more coverage throughout the rest of the week as the team continues to prepare for its game against the archrival Falcons. Cheers, Jeff Duncan |
