| Protecting students against sexual abuse The College released its updated advisory Professional Misconduct of a Sexual Nature. The advisory demonstrates the teaching profession’s vigilance against the sexual abuse of students and helps to inform and guide the practice of teachers. |
| | | Myth/Fact Myth: One per cent of College members face a disciplinary hearing for allegations of professional misconduct. Fact: It’s less than half a percent. |

| Math test requirement for certification Starting in March 2020, a math test will now be part of the teaching certification process in Ontario. The Education Quality and Accountability Office is developing the test, which will focus on concepts taught in both elementary and secondary grades. |
