Environmentalists have asked a federal court to throw out a lawsuit by a mining company that's fighting to hold on to its minerals leases in northeastern Minnesota.

Icy conditions led to a fatal crash early Wednesday morning in St. Louis County.

Attorneys for the men accused of participating in a shooting that injured five people at a protest in Minneapolis last year, including two from the Northland, want the charges against their clients dropped, according to Minnesota Public Radio. 

With a mix of rain and snow hitting the Northland, MnDOT officials are advising extra caution when traveling on the roads Wednesday.
