We won the big one!

The election of Joe Biden and Kamala Harris not only removes a dangerous, corrupt and spiteful man from the office of the president, but it gives our country an opportunity to heal emotionally, and actually. At long last we will soon have a leadership team that will effectively address COVID-19, listen to the science, and nurse our ailing country out of this devastating pandemic.

We will have in the White House a man who genuinely cares about the plight of everyone, who intimately empathizes with pain and loss. We will have as the Vice President a woman who not only understands our nation’s judicial system but understands its gaps; she is, indeed, a leader who is authentically for the people.

As Democrats, like Joe Biden and Kamala Harris, we care about the future of all families, that solid public education is available to all kids, and that every community member can access effective health care. We can have a vibrant economy with great living-wage jobs for every rural and urban worker and do so in a way that restores and protects our environment. 

This weekend is a time to celebrate; to finally let out that long-held sigh of relief. It’s time to congratulate ourselves for being part of the enormous team committed to restoring this American democracy.
