Pipeline plans: On Monday, very little was known about plans to build pipelines to deliver fresh drinking water to Orleans and Jefferson Parishes. On Tuesday, that changed considerably as both parishes publicly outlined their efforts to stay ahead of the wedge of salt making its way up the Mississippi River. Kevin McCarthy became the first Speaker of the House to be ousted from the post Tuesday, speculation has swirled about who might take his place. As Mark Ballard reports, House Majority Leader Steve Scalise, R-Jefferson, could be in line for the top job in Congress's lower chamber. A reprieve for Joseph: Gregory Joseph will get at least another two weeks as Mayor LaToya Cantrell's communications director, time he will spend getting a lawyer as the City Council attempts to oust him from the post. Council members had planned to vote on Joseph's fate on Tuesday but relented after a testy exchange with the city attorney. Ben Myers has the story.
