1. WESTMINSTER DOG SHOW CROWNS A POODLE: Although the crowd was rooting for other contenders, Siba the standard poodle beat her competition and won the 144th Westminster Kennel Club Dog Show. Time: “First held in 1877, the Westminster show is America’s second-longest continuously-held sporting event. (The Kentucky Derby beats it.) And the Dog Show is also Madison Square Garden’s longest continuous tenant, also dating back to 1877. ‘We’re the oldest and most prestigious. And the fact that we’re in New York City and have such a rich history in New York, that just makes it bigger, because everything’s bigger in New York,’ explained the Westminster Kennel Club’s national television spokesperson Gail Miller Bisher to Time.

2. SENATOR BERNIE SANDERS WINS NEW HAMPSHIRE PRIMARY AMID LIVE MUSIC AND CROWD SURFING AT HIS RALLY: As the presidential contest heated up, and Senator Bernie Sanders worked overtime to prevail in the New Hampshire primary last night—where he succeeded—he staged a one-of-a-kind rally at the University of New Hampshire's Whitmore Arena, where The Strokes, a rock band, were on the bill. Thousands of people waited in the cold to attend the event, where Representative Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, Cynthia Nixon, and Dr. Cornel West spoke. Vice: “When Sanders introduced the Strokes, the rally entered a unique phase. Have you ever seen anyone crowd surf at a political rally? Probably not, and even if you have, it's unlikely that you've seen a crowd push through the barrier to reach the stage at an event like this. The energy of the crowd continued to escalate as the show went on.”

3. PRESIDENT TRUMP AND FLOTUS SET TO HOST KING AND QUEEN OF SPAIN: President Trump and first lady Melania Trump will host King Felipe VI and Queen Letizia of Spain for an official state visit April 21, the White House revealed Tuesday. The king and queen’s roles in their home country are considered largely ceremonial. The Washington Times: “The visit ‘will celebrate our two countries’ close friendship and shared history, and reaffirm our commitments to stand together to address today’s global challenges,’ the White House said in a statement ... Over the course of President Trump’s administration, he and his wife have hosted two state dinners, honoring French President Emmanuel Macron in April 2018 and Australian Prime Minister Scott Morrison last September.”
