You’d have to be hibernating to miss the stir created by Michael Wolff’s Fire and Fury: Inside Trump’s White House, No. 1 on the New York Times hardcover nonfiction and combined nonfiction best sellers lists, having sold nearly 200,000 copies through February 14. Here’s more news: On February 28, Vintage Español will publish a Spanish-language edition,  Fuego y Furia: Dentro de la Casa Blanca de Trump (384p. pap. ISBN 9780525564287. $13.95; ebk. ISBN 9780525564294). Meanwhile, word has come that elusive and illustrious Italian author Elena Ferrante will be writing a weekly column for the Guardian’s Weekend magazine, her first ever regular newspaper column. Not surprisingly, the essays will focus on the personal.

cover of Abbott's Give Me Your Hand Bright Days, Dark Thrills | Fiction Previews
Thrillers are never lighthearted, but many of this month’s are horror-edged indeed, with a murder victim inexplicably found beneath a lagoon's ice, a typewriter inexplicably typing away, a bereaved new neighbor seen to be the cause of several children disappearing, and death-by-starvation rearing its head. Look for teamwork from mother-and-son Iris Johansen and Roy Johansen, father-and-son Jonathan Kellerman and Jesse Kellerman, and husband-and-wife Nicci French (Nicci Gerrard and Sean French).
